Northern Window, a Poem by Shikdar Mohammed Kibriah

Ordinary words in the soul of gently vibrating prose
Build a poetic hut with the green fire of subjectivity,
If progressive city looks back to a Harappa's moon
I will sure unbar my window for the northern reality.

Full of my perplexed yard with western grasses
No access to naming in my sensible dictionary,
Find only symbolic moon in the dark night pine
That has not any light for aesthetic missionary.

Cleared a watermark in that full scape portrait
Appeared a shadow or sound somehow albeit.

Bearing a wordy asceticism in that project
Of symbolic drama, while true senses find
Insightfully visible a real lively melodrama.

I explore a progressive opera in the
Upcoming Postmodern age, as
Myth tells a tale alike a lady
Of betel faced in the
Moon barrage.

Poetry Critique by Poet Mr. Euisu Byeon

Euisu Byeon

About the Poet:-

Mr. Euisu Byeon (卞義洙) is a Korean poet. He published his first poetry book, "The Distant City of Memories," in 1991. In February 1996, he began his official career as a poet with the publication of his works in "Modern Poetry Studies." Since then, he has been a leading figure in unconscious symbolism, with his second poetry book, "When the Moon Rises, Trees Have an Arched Chest," published in 2002, and his subsequent work on unconscious symbolism. He published his third book of poetry, a collection of long poems titled "The Symbolism of the Unconscious: Nature, Spirits, and Symbols," in 2008, followed by his fourth poetry book, "The Parrot in the Black Sun," as well as his first book of literary criticism, "Waiting for a Flock of Fantasies: The Symbolism of the Unconscious." He has also written a collection of essays on symbolism and symbols, titled "Symbols and Symbols, Invasion and Resistance." Since then, he has focused on "meta-semiotics," an extension of unconscious symbolism. He published his second and third books of literary criticism, "Artists Called by God" and "Schizophrenia and Poets," in 2009, as well as a book on art criticism titled "Understanding Seo Sang-hwan and Contemporary Art" in 2010. In 2013, he published "Seo Sang-hwan's Art Symbols: Meeting Park Sang-ryong's Novels and Byun Yi-soo's Poems," a book of art criticism. He also published "Convergence Studies: Symbolism" in two volumes in 2015, in which he presents "symbolism" as an independent emerging academic field. He led a joint poetry creation project in 2019 with Ju Won-ik, Kang Seo-yeon, Park Yi-young, Seo Sang-hwan, and Lee Chae-hyun, among others. In 2021, he founded and served as editor for the poetry magazine "Symbology Institute."

Poetry Critique:-

Experimental Work and the Significance
of Poet Byeong-Cheol Kang's Thematic Approach
- From The Sound of the Bamboo Forest
Byeon, Euisu (poet, publisher and editor of the Symbology Institute)
We want to see something new every day. We want to encounter new works. Even when writing poetry, I try to explore different forms after every five poems. This ensures there's variety in the content. Like everyone else, I'm interested in newcomers because we crave new possibilities. When I come across such a newcomer or poet, I go out of my way to discover them. The same holds true for the Symbology Institute. We strive to find and introduce good works by new and unfamiliar poets rather than frequently publishing existing poems and poets in familiar forms.
Poet Byeong-Cheol Kang's poetry represent a form we haven't attempted before. He made his debut as a novelist in 1993 through the Jeju Writers' Association's 'Jeju New Writer’s Literature Award' and appeared in Poetry in 2016 through (Poetry Literature), but his works have mainly been published in foreign publications rather than in Korea. In 2023, Kang published a collection of his poems in English and Korean, titled
Sounds of the Bamboo Forest, which includes works published in overseas media. It was through this collection that I came to know his works in detail. His poems in this collection are based on the Buddhist 'Yuma Sutra' and explore maxims, aphorisms, and life wisdom.
To achieve novelty is to have a new star appear and shine in the night sky, which is what any poet or writer would desire. Experimentation for novelty can be seen in terms of both content and form. If both are new, that's great, but achieving one or the other is rewarding enough as a poet. Usually, however, experimentation is approached from the perspective of form or technique rather than from the perspective of deepening thematic content or introducing new ideas.
The subject of a poem can be anything in the human world. However, it's not easy for a poet or an artist to reach or surpass the level of inquiry that scholars and philosophers specialize in, and to translate such perceptions and knowledge into aesthetic works through poetry. Poets can only attempt to imitate them. The novelty in poetry then challenges the format rather than deepening or refreshing the subject matter.
This is where Byeong-Cheol Kang's poetry is special: his novelty lies in the choice of content, not form. Poetry doesn't find its value or significance in presenting intellectual recognition or enlightenment. Rather, the matter of such recognition lies on the other side of the poetry. The tendency of poetic experiments to focus on form rather than content is not unrelated to this problem.
Dr. Kang's poetry presents a type of poetic aesthetic that hasn't been seen in poetry literature until now: the poetry of the spirit world. It deals with themes and contents related to ontological and ethical aspects. Works with such content tend to focus on epistemological 'isms' or declarative assertions, similar to the poems of past spiritualists or social pragmatists, and thus fail to enter the realm of poetry aesthetics, remaining limited to the 'enlightenment' of ideology or wisdom presentation. This presents a challenge for content experimentation.
The challenge is to unite 'the cognitive' with 'the emotional'. It must be accompanied by the phonological aesthetics and the beauty of concise connotation required by the art of poetry, and the finesse of the device called metaphor, which is common to all poetry and art. The former two are the most basic of poetic aesthetics and are within the reach of any long-term practitioner. The most difficult is metaphor.
For knowledge or wisdom of an academic, epistemological nature to be transformed into the world of art, it must go through metaphor, which is difficult to realize due to its nature. That's why experimental works that deepen or change such themes are rare. However, the poet Byeong-Cheol Kang merges the awareness of ontological thought with emotional rhyme and metaphor. Again, for epistemological knowledge or realization to become poetry, it must first be transformed into the world of metaphor.

No matter how strong the wind blows,
The verdant forest does not collapse.
When the wind passes by,
The green forest regains its graceful appearance,
Inspiring admiration.
(Sounds of Bamboo Fores). part

‘The forest isn't falling.' It's not a stacked structure. The "forest" is a metaphor for 'self' or 'fulfillment', meaning 'the self is indestructible'. "No matter how strong the wind blows," the ‘self’ "regains its graceful appearance" when the wind passes. In such a "bamboo forest," the ‘self’ is ‘inspired and admired’. In the first stanza, the self-metaphorized by the forest and the forest metaphorized by the self-form the work, supported by the rhythmic flow of the poem's sentences and the concise implications.
Keep your eyes forward and walk
(medium)

If you deeply love the past
And seek divine revelations from it

Then it's okay to stay there
But if not, then live in this dynamic moment.
(The Reason why eyes are only in the front). part

These lines are metaphors conveying a message of striving forward. What makes this enlightening exhortation impactful, rather than repulsive, is its connection to 'this dynamic moment'. Furthermore, in the next stanza, it is metaphorized again as "The leaves of a silver fir tree, sparkling in the sunlight", depicting the self ‘walking’ as "The silver fir tree" that "shows its back “. Metaphor is myth, leading to the world of magic and dreams.

(Letter to Son) is, as the title suggests, a letter written in the form of poetry by the poet. This is possible when a poet has the freedom to use metaphors. A poet should be able to turn any type of writing into poetry, utilizing metaphors. In other words, a poet must excel in using metaphors.
The significance of (Letter to son) is this.
It becomes a poem even though it talks about a strictly existential relationship, because it compares reality to a "deserted island. "The poet transformed this one letter into a poem by the single poem word, "Desert Island."
Let's look at another work.

Life is like a river flowing towards the sea,
A journey that's unique for you and me,
But with resilience and courage, we'll make it through,
And discover the beauty that life has in store anew.

Life is like a canvas with many colors to paint,
(medium)

Crossing the bridge, we journey together,
Helping each other through stormy weather,
We lighten the burden and guide the way,
Transforming challenges into opportunities
(Journey of life). part

This poem metaphorizes the "Journey of life" as "a river flowing" and reflects it to "a canvas with many colors to paint". It seems to admonish us that "Complaining won't get us anywhere" and that we should "learn" to be "grateful," but it naturally substitutes these lives as the "Crossing the bridge" and "journey together”.
Fame and medals mean nothing,
Everything disappears as dust in the wind
(medium)

As a youngster you have no respect for the laws of nature
Everything is in a state of flux
Everything is getting old
You don't listen to wise man

When you're engaging in meaningless conversation,
When you engage in argument,
realize that you are disputing over something impermanent.
(medium)

Be happy
Be comfortable
Keep the peace
There is greatness there,
Enjoy the joy of life with wisdom

(medium)
May people be welcomed by people

Lotus Flower hopes to ripe fruits,
(Blooming Lotus Flower). part
The poet compares "fame and medals" to "dust" and the words of “wise men" to "the laws of nature". He compares "meaningless conversation" and "argument" to "something impermanent", and one’s love and respect for "people" is represented by the word "welcome" and metaphorized by the "Lotus Flower". What makes the directive words of enlightenment such as "Fame and medals mean nothing" and "Be happy/ Be comfortable/ Keep the peace/ There is greatness there, / Enjoy the joy of life with wisdom" such deep reflection is because the use of various metaphors, such as the aforementioned analogies and vicarious metaphors, throughout the poem, which leads the whole into the illusion of a flower garden of thought.
Trying to realize beauty through the form of beauty is the general creative attitude of poets and the approach of new experiments. On the other hand, the attempt to show new beauty through the content of beauty is the creative attitude of the very unusual and special world. In ontology, there have been efforts to strengthen ontology through the form of existence, but it is rare to see an attempt to deal with existence itself in ontology. Until now, philosophical ontological thinking and thinking about humans and the environment have been dominated by semiotic and epistemological approaches and thinking, not content, even scientific approaches. This is because discussing human beings themselves may be more reckless than exploring or traveling to alien planets.
Religion explores the self and talks about God. In the world of science, scholarship, and the arts, however, God is always the problem at the starting line. It is quite unusual, but somehow necessary, for poetry to address issues such as knowledge of the self, practical enlightenment wisdom, and ethical maxims such as guidelines and codes for living, which have been considered objects of epistemological and semiotic inquiry. Just as it is not the Tao, the moment we speak of the Tao, the moment we speak of the self, the self is the other. The out-of-body occurs. Being may never be able to speak of being. But should we only deal with the world of form?
Byeong-Cheol Kang's metaphorization of challenging reflections on humanity and existence is a very unusual and extraordinary field of poetry creation attitude. As someone has to take the initiative, Byung-Cheol Kang is doing it. Rather than skepticizing his work, we should give him unlimited encouragement and support. Even if it looks like trying to roll up a huge mountain.

However, as this article demonstrates, his poems are masterful at translating issues of perception and wisdom into the world of metaphor. This fact is important. He knows how to elevate the problems of existence and ethics to the art of poetry. Now it needs a generalization of the constant repetition, which of course is possible. It will happen sooner or later, because it is an attribute and phenomenon of nature. It is also the "natural law" that Byeong-Cheol Kang talks about in "Blooming Lotus Flower". May the "lotus flower" of the new world "ripe fruits" as the poet puts it.

Two Poems by Shakil Kalam

The Beach of Sorrows

In the port of my suffering
You don't anchor the ship of your happiness
I used to sit upto midnight let to illuminate me
With the light of your heavenly love
Because you would come to my aesthetic yard.

The salty taste of blue pain in my dreamy land
Because you are missing in my canvas
The chewing of memory goes on endlessly
As clotted like a dark cloud.

I live on the shore of the ocean of sorrows
Melted moonlight touches me.
You will come very soon.
Before the golden glow spread around me,
Shadowy light in darkness.

You and I will be lost
Holding hands far and far away,
In my dreamy amaranth,
And in the transparent waterbody's lake.

Hoping for a Fruitful Tree

What a long delay!
Polaris are sparkling, and
Charles's Wain is shining
In the corners of the sky for billions of years.
Across the longest way of the waiting,
Now she is very tired.

The planets are moving in its orbit with diurnal and annual speed cycle.
The foliage is only growing and growing --
Still now the flower is awaiting with It's expectation;
For sepals, allium, pistils, stamens, pistal and so on.

Recently, another tree has been growing  amazingly
The tree will be yield something
Though nothing is fructifying.
Yet man waits for a fruitful tree.

The System in Reverse, a Poem by Oana Ileana Noorani

I've grasped, beyond the surface's disguise, There lie morbid truths beneath the mighty's rise.

Tangentially I find myself in a cause with effect,

Seeking through truth, to justice I connect:

Inestimable values among traits align,

Towards a new paradigm, loftily they climb.

True worth in the free human through objective lens,

As long as one's alone, their thought pretends.

I will not scorn the significance of being near To life that surrounds me and prompts the quest so dear,

Structurally I build within a system's act, Yielding at last a coagulated fact.

Distortions widely have been deeply set, But right by right endures, and justice leads the bet.

Through variability it shows, beyond all contrasts here.

Within us lies a constant, equal to a peer's career.

With Dew And Flowers, a Poem by Ileana Pascu

The rain hits the window,
in lines and curves from tears of longing
Drops trickle down the crystal,
kissing hastily, cheek pressed
The lost gaze, among cloud tears,
through the beautiful setting
Your face takes shape,
across the boulevard,
shrouded in mystery!

From shadows and interwoven lights,
in its sweet nets it encompasses me
I look up at the sky,
so that I can lower it over the dreams
Under the snow of acacia flowers,
what comes out of the sky
It snows, it rains,
it carries us in the dance,
on open wings.

Two Poems by Mehmet Rema

Where Night Divides Day

In a segment of Via Roma,
To the beautiful gallery, where souvenirs are sold
A couple of street artists, all elegance
They danced;  a waltz oh what magical art!
Under the sweet sounds of the Danube Waves
I was haunted, in the elegance of the lady
I didn't feel like someone was speaking on my behalf

How long we had not seen each other!
For a moment I did not recognize the smiling face.
Barbell in place, I called memory
Before me the moon with silver rays landed

In her eyes, cheeks, lips and neck
Via Roma laughed in front of me.  I laughed that day
You soon forgot me, she said
And on my side my sorcery was thrown...
My arms met the sky
I asked him where he is coming from and where he is going?
He saw me, looked at me, smiled and said:
You and I have the same path
We walked slowly through via Roma
Fashion shops, souvenir shops
The whole world was sitting next to us
From the starry sky I saw the beautiful Nadir

Someone put a hand on my shoulder
What I looked at, my heart jumped out of place
A man in a tailcoat and top hat
Before us magnificent he, Pushkin
Hurry up, he told us, because Tchaikovsky is waiting for you
Sitting by the lake where the swans dance

Tchaikovsky's swans in the spectacle with the stars
The great thoughtful man in the armchair where
Esenin was drinking coffee with two friends
And he thought "King in pants"
Pushkin in the ball was drinking a glass of wine
Above us like spring raindrops
The tears of the willow fell on the Strada del Francese
Nadiri was proud to have approached and stood on Superga
gazela was looking into my eyes
Her eyes a shining universe
I asked him how he hadn't forgotten me
-Time never heals the wound of a heart-
There I knew the true power of a hope.
The sky sat as I caressed him as if he were a child
No clouds, no fog, but the stars that shine endlessly
We count the petals of a sheep's flower in vain
He danced via Roma that evening,
enjoyed the Strada del Francese
The angel on my side had taken me
They flew together where memories took us
She was talking to me about the tandafilas I was giving her
I remembered, I remembered her smiles
In that beautiful evening filled with dreams
We didn't understand when the night was separated from the day.

Colors of Flowers in the Garden

In a flower garden with a thousand colors
Each flower has its own soul
Remember that flowers do not speak
With the language of the soul they express love

There is always a ray in the eyes of a dream
You have seen a dreamy soul
He looks like a violet...a rose...
From whose petals emanates the fragrance of love

How many loves are born from a flower
From a bouquet a heart beat hard
Do not say that flowers do not love
As long as they cause love to arise between people

Thousands of flowers, thousands of colors in flower gardens
Transient people pass carelessly
Their eyes perceive colors
Each one resembles a heart

The colors of the flowers in the flower garden
In their silence they extinguish hatred
Try spending some time there
In moments of anger, connection or pain

Flowers get color and fragrance from love
And distribute it to passersby
Don't pick the flowers but enjoy the beauty
Then tell me what you learned from them
Go to the flower garden when your soul aches.

Interview of Eminent Writer Maria Teresa Liuzzo, Taken by Irma Kurti

[Interviewee : Maria Teresa Liuzzo From Italy]

[Interviewer : Irma Kurti From Italy]

Can you please introduce yourself?
I was born in Saline di Montebello Jonico and live in   Reggio di Calabria (Italy). I am President of “Lirico- Drammatica” Association “P. Benintende''; – Journalist -Editor- Chief Director of the Literary Magazine “LE MUSE''- Writer - Doctor of Psychology at Leibniz University in Santa Fe (New Mexico, U.S.A.), Modern Literature and Philosophy Teacher. I am a correspondent for many head newspapers as the “Il Ponte Italo-Americano'' (The Italian American Bridge), USA and “Nuova Corvina'' EUROPA.

What is the name of your most popular book, project, or upcoming events?
All of my writings (articles, essays, poems and novels) have achieved considerable circulation. My literary production, ever since the first volume of poems published, i.e. 'Radici (Roots/Poems of Childhood)', has been covered by great names in Italian and foreign literature, from Prof. Maria Luisa Spaziani (Nobel Prize candidate) to the famous British poet Peter Russell (defined as 'The Last of the Great Moderns' by the great Thomas Fleming and also a six-time Nobel Prize candidate). It was precisely Peter Russell who presented my book 'Apeiron' at the 'F. Cilea' Municipal Theatre of Reggio Calabria, prefaced my volume 'Humanity' and presented and translated, with facing text, the volume 'Genesis'.
* Asking me which is my most beautiful book is equivalent to asking a mother whom of her children is the most beautiful, because books are my own body, my flesh and blood, my prison and my freedom: they are shroud and memory.
*  Important projects include the making of a neo-realist film based on the now famous and successful trilogy of novels, which is also being translated in Japan and China. One of the two directors involved is translating the second volume 'Don't tell me I loved the wind!' into English. The plans are many and, like future events, are in God's hands, as no one can foretell the future or have a prior encounter with destiny.

[Writer Maria in Her Study Room]

Have you won any awards, certificates, honors, stickers, or any other accomplishments you want to share with the world?
I don’t trust the contests, in principle, I think that they are childish and piloted. This is the main reason I didn’t go to receive the prizes I won in the contests, where I didn’t even ask to participate, nor I thought to be present or get any kinds of assignments. Rather, I consider among the most significant honors received to be the Honoris Causa degrees with teaching faculty in US universities and those conferred by the Prime Minister's Office for culture and publishing.
I wish to share peace, joy, hope, truth without 'stretch marks', honesty without hypocrisy with the world. I dislike mafia behaviors and pathetic carnivals.

What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are writing and being a 'missionary'. I have dedicated much of my life to the needy persons through my human, educational and psychological support, with deeds and not words.

[Writer Maria in Contemplation Posture]

What is the best thing about your accomplishments?
The nicest thing is to stay away from the spiral of hatred that leads to the death of the spirit – where the Creativity (writing) is the expression of Sacred Molecular (Parmenide). The endless Dream is the emotion of silence is to feel the sea heart beating in my chest, to see the flower hatching, to feel the sun kissing me, hearing the sacred breathing of nature into the voices of the time. They are the joy of existing “just because I found what is in my deep inside”, and leave the darkness away from my shoulders, as Lao -Tzu said. It pains me think about those who, because of their unbridled and sneaky running to be famous, they forgot to have a look beyond the barbed wire, to the egoist peoples that think to brag and weaving prices “baked by thunder” of the arrogance of certain media poker which snort in order to search a water throne. About the hatred there will be nothing left but a monster imprisoned by its tail. These “fellows” that says good and scratch badly, don’t think to millions of deaths under the rubble, or to the children that have just a brick for sky. They go on struggling in a war for a “piece of paper” at the service of countless matryoshka dolls, and forgive pick the nicest flower that’s the LIFE. They didn’t realize that originality has no lookalike and all the rest is just a copy. On the meandering wickedness, only love give sense to the life.

You have published numerous books up to now. What do they represent for you?
My books had traveled for me; in the last thirty years they have reached the far India, America, Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe. They had been my legs, my mouth. I never loved walkways just like “a good evening showgirl.”

[Writer Maria in Another Posture]

Is there any opinion that you want to share with our readers?
I do not need to discredit anyone to stand out. I consider those who do so to be stinging people, and I am inspired by pity for the human miseries that wear the treacherous habit of the lowest slander. I dedicate precious time to my magazine of International Culture, known and appreciated throughout the world. On its pages the best Central European and world criticism has 'passed'. I prefer quality, quantity is made up of scraps and leaves time to find its own. My works have been appreciated worldwide by critics of high value and undoubted professionalism.
I am a free spirit and I leave you with my motto: ''Above me only God and the stars, after me the flood!". Like Confucius, I wait on the riverbank to see 'the corpse of my enemies' pass by.

I WOULDN’T KNOW…, A POEM BY ANGELA KOSTA

I don’t know if you resemble lost time, lost within life’s enchanting mystery, futilely encountering silent memories, desperately embracing ...
