STAY WITH ME TONIGHT, a poem by Maria Teresa Liuzzo
Stopped in the tremor
some berries,
in the tattoo
bitter of the hours
to illuminate
the divine shadows.
Be still sea
of my shell,
silver cloud
on the pomegranate
and on the peach tree in celebration,
sea breeze
on every heart of water.
Ink rose arise
in the gaze and creates
flashes of sky.
In tired sailing
some thoughts,
be a breeze spread with peace,
fantasy
of galaxies in love.

LIKE A THREAD OF LIGHT, a Poem by Maria Teresa Liuzzo

AT THE FOUNTAIN OF SHADOW, A POEM BY MARIA TERESA LIUZZO
At the fountain
of that ethereal shadow
there lies the heavy weight
of the universe:
we are human light
in the thunderbolt of blood,
spastic movements of pawns
in the dismal suffering
of this ''humanism''
for we can never know
the age of the soul
ours, or anybody's.
And time seconds us
in space that polishes us
shavings of illusions.
I shall not escape my punishment:
well do I know
the mine of the blade
and I shall struggle to live
where all is ruination.
- Maria Teresa Liuzzo

This work of art brings me back to the past.
Oh, how I wish I could go back in time
where even the dream was imposing.
We could climb up and down
with the memory of carefree days
to relive a glimpse of those times
and feel like angels
to be able to fly above the skyscrapers,
see the sea from above, and the people who look like ants.
Then, I realize
that the weather was fickle and fairy-tale-like
and that is why Art and Literature were born.
To stop time and hold it tight in your arms
like a creature.
Stop that moment in your heart and the years on paper,
question the future and write centuries of history.
Thoughts are rivers of ink
anime paintings in frame.
Literature the most powerful voice
that questions the future,
the word the message of man before dawn.
