Two Poems by Pragya

Last Hug

We met and loved, had a great time,
Shared laughter and tears, and a heart that aligned.
But when we parted, our hearts were in pain,
Wishing we could turn back time, and love again.

We wanted to hug, but couldn't show,
Because we were in public, and had to let go.
We looked into each other's eyes, and knew,
That this goodbye, might be our last, too.

Now we're apart, and it's hard to bear,
Regretting that hug, that we could never share.
A simple hug, which meant so much to me,
A memory I'll keep, of what could never be.

I wish I could turn back time, and make it right,
To hold you close, and feel your warmth tonight.
But life went on, and now you're gone,
Leaving me with memories, and this longing song.

It’s Not Enough

I was supposed to feel loved
but instead, I feel trapped
a prisoner of your emotions
a captive of your heart,

You say you're sorry, but it's not enough
The words are hollow, the pain is rough
I'm left to pick up the pieces of me
A fragile heart, a shattered dream,

I was supposed to feel loved
but instead, I feel used
a tool for your validation
a means to your selfish ends,

I'm searching for a way out
an escape from this toxic doubt
a love that's real, a heart that's true
but until then, I'm stuck loving you.
